Dear host families,
The LFA community is reaching out to you today because your participation in the LFAEuroMun conference is crucial in order to ensure its success. The LFA is hosting its own conference that will take place from March 8th to 10th, welcoming about 80 students from all over Europe. They will share the unique opportunity to debate about democracy in the European Union with the students of the LFA and Notre Dame de Grandchamp. However the success of this new experience relies on your help with this project. Below you will find the detailed program for the three days.
Your participation in this unique project would imply that you host one or more foreign student(s) during the two nights of Friday, March 8th and Saturday, March 9th. This support would include providing accommodation, transport and meals to the visiting delegate(s).
On the host family form, you will be asked to identify the type of accommodation you can provide so that we can find the best match possible for the host family and the guest student(s). We will also put you in direct contact with the guest student(s) prior to the conference so that you can begin exchanging before March 8th.
The guest student(s) will need to be picked up on Friday evening, March 8th at 5:45 pm at the LFA. The guest student(s) will then need to be accompanied to the LFA on Saturday morning, March 9th for the beginning of debates at 9 am. Debates will end at 4:30 pm that day so that all delegates will have time to return home and eat before returning to the LFA at 7:30 pm for the social event which will end at 10:30 pm. It will be necessary to provide transportation from the LFA at 4:30 pm and to and from the social event later in the evening. One last effort will be required on Sunday morning, March 10th, for a last trip to the LFA for the beginning of final debates and the closing ceremony at 9 am. Please note that the guest student(s) cannot travel alone while under the care and responsibility of the host family.
Lunch will be provided at the LFA on Saturday and Sunday (bag lunch). There will also be several refreshment breaks during the day. Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and dinner on Friday and Saturday would be provided by the host families. Host families will be assigned a guest student(s) that matches their dietary practices as indicated on the host family form.
The LFA community thanks the host families for their commitment, which is essential for transforming this project into a reality.
